Why I’m running

Dear fellow SC Republicans,

I am writing to let you know that I am running for State Chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party.

As you have probably heard, current SCGOP Chairman Matt Moore has decided not to seek another term at the next State Convention. We thank him for his dedication, hard work and service to our party, and we look forward to working with him to continue to advance our conservative principles.

I have spent almost thirty years working in grassroots politics, from conservative political groups and issue campaigns, to helping our candidates, and working in our party at the precinct, county, state and national levels. Without a doubt, working both inside and outside of our party has given me a better perspective on the challenges and opportunities that we face.

My reason for being politically engaged has always been to make a difference for my conservative principles – and to help other conservatives have an impact on the things that they care about as well.  My goal for the Republican Party is that it becomes an even stronger, more successful vehicle for those conservative values.

If you share that goal, I hope that you will take a moment and join me. Let me know how you would like to support the campaign, or even if you would like to add your name to a public endorsement list.

I have spoken with hundreds of grassroots party activists and leaders in recent weeks and have received incredible support. And over the course of this campaign I look forward to speaking with every conservative activist in our state who cares about our party and wants to work together to make it stronger.

In the end, conservative grassroots support is what will make all the difference – both in this
campaign and to the long-term success of the Republican Party!

Thanks for all that you do for our shared values!

Drew McKissick
